Joe Howard Williamson Victorious In Non Pro Classic at 2017 Summer Spectacular

It was a sweet victory for four time World Champ Joe Howard Williamson when he won the Non Pro Classic Challenge at the 2017 NCHA Summer Spectacular in Fort Worth.

That’s because it’s the first time he’s won in the Will Rogers! Joe rode Miz Savanah Ichi and crept past Kristen Galyean by half a point to win with 221.5.

Miz Savanah Ichi is by Cat Ichi out of Snicker Roo. The pair won more than $16,500 for first.

Joe Told CHTO’s Simone Cobb a valuable tip he learned was to keep your horse in the middle of the pen.

Kristen won Resreve on Button Down Supercat and third was taken by Nadine Payne on Velvets Revolver who scored 220.

Lindy Ashlock Crowned 2017 Super Stakes Non Pro Champion

Lindy Ashlock notched up the top score of the Derby to claim the Non Pro Championship at the 2017 NCHA Super Stakes.

Lindy rode In Reyverse and marked a 222 in the second set to take home just under $40,000.

She told CHTO’s Simone Cobb that the cows made it a tough event overall but she was thrilled with the result.

It was a busy day for Lindy, who after winning the Non Pro, spent the the next two hours preparing her husband’s horse for the Open final.

Lindy has now won more than $1.3-million in lifetime earnings. In Reyverse, a Dual Rey out of Havanna Lights, is now at around $56,000.

Reserve champion went to Brandon Westfall on Laguna Girl by marking 220.5 and Mary Ann Rapp clinched third with Molokai, scoring 219.

Austin Blake Wins His Second Non Pro Futurity!

Austin Blake blew the field away when he showed Stuffin My Pockets and clinched the 2016 Non Pro Futurity Championship in Fort Worth.
Austin, from Canyon Tx, marked an impressive 224, two and half points in front of Greg Coalson who won the Reserve buckle.

Austin takes home just shy of $60,000 for the win.  It’s Austin’s second Non Pro Futurity Championship. He won his first buckle in 2010 on One Rockin Pepto.
Ever humble in victory, Austin told CHTO’s Simone Cobb he was just thrilled to put together a great run on a horse he bred. Austin also came third in the limited Non Pro Futurity final on a full sister to Stuffin My Pockets, called Lookin Sneaky which he also bred.

Stuffin My Pockets is by Dual Smart Rey and out of Smartys Gonna Pass. Austin’s winnings at the Futurity now take him past the half million mark in total earnings.

Greg Coalson rode Catywompus, while third place getter Glade Knight marked a 220 on Geronimos Catillac.

Nadine Payne Shares 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Title!

Nadine Payne won her second major title in the Will Rogers Coliseum when she equalled a 222 in the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Final.

Nadine came out towards the end of the second set aboard Velvets Revolver with Armando Costa Neto’s leading score set in her sights.

Velvets Revolver is by WR This Cats Smart and out of Velvets Best Shot. The four year old doubled its earnings with the win, now at more than $66,000.

She and Armando both won more than $33,600 for the shared title. She did speak with CHTO after her win but due to technical difficulty, we can only bring you her run. Enjoy!

The Reserve Champion was Ashley Flynn just one point behind on LHR Smooth Jamie Rey.

Amando Costa Neto Ties For First In 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Final!

Armando Costa Neto looks set for a Triple Crown Championship after sharing the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Title at Fort Worth.

Armando rode Watch Me Whip and marked a 222 in the first bunch, a score equaled by Nadine Payne on Velvets Revolver towards the end of the second set.

It’s a winning duo, as Armando and Watch Me Whip took out the 2015 NCHA Non Pro Futurity just four months previously. He told CHTO’s Simone Cobb he’s looking forward to the Summer Spectacular to make it three out of three!

Watch Me Whip is by Playgun out of Look The Look and has earnings totaling approximately $86,000. Armando himself has now won more than $900,000.

Reserve champion was Ashley Flynn aboard LHR Smooth James Rey just one point behind the leaders.

The Non Pro final paid more than $33,000 to both winners.
