Kenny Platt Wins 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Open Final!

Watch Kenny Platt’s outstanding run in the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Open four-year-old Final!

Kenny dominated the field with an impressive 228 aboard Moms Stylish Player, some five and a half points ahead of the field. With this win, Kenny has now made it into the NCHA Rider’s Hall of Fame by surpassing the million dollar mark in earnings.

Moms Stylish Player is by Lizzys Gotta Player out of Moms Stylish Babe and has now won more than $100,000.

Kenny gave a great interview with CHTO following his win, however technology failed us and we are unable to bring it to you so please enjoy his run.

Grant Setnicka had a great run on Ichis My Choice to mark a 222.5 and claim the reserve championship while Geoffrey Sheehan placed third riding Cromed Out Cat with a 222.


Amando Costa Neto Ties For First In 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Final!

Armando Costa Neto looks set for a Triple Crown Championship after sharing the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Title at Fort Worth.

Armando rode Watch Me Whip and marked a 222 in the first bunch, a score equaled by Nadine Payne on Velvets Revolver towards the end of the second set.

It’s a winning duo, as Armando and Watch Me Whip took out the 2015 NCHA Non Pro Futurity just four months previously. He told CHTO’s Simone Cobb he’s looking forward to the Summer Spectacular to make it three out of three!

Watch Me Whip is by Playgun out of Look The Look and has earnings totaling approximately $86,000. Armando himself has now won more than $900,000.

Reserve champion was Ashley Flynn aboard LHR Smooth James Rey just one point behind the leaders.

The Non Pro final paid more than $33,000 to both winners.


Katie Rice Claims 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Limited Non Pro Final!

Katie Rice was thrilled with her win in the Limited Non Pro four year old final at the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes.

Katie came out second to last in a field of 14 to mark a 220.5 on Miss Laureyna and scoot past Reserve Champion Don Bell who scored 218 on Catfish.

Miss Laureyna was sired by Smart Royal Rey out of CR Hot Meow.

It’s Katie’s first major win in the Will Rogers, earning more than $8,600 on prize money. Katie, wife of trainer Tarin Rice, now has total winnings surpassing $80,000. She and daughter Charlie spoke with CHTO’s Simone Cobb.

Third place was won by 14 year old Ryan Rapp on Tuff Julie with a 216.


Jon Burgess clinches 2016 NCHA Super Stakes John Deere Final

Jon Burgess has won the John Deere Division of the four-year-old final in 2016 NCHA Super Stakes at Fort Worth.

Jon, who rode Littlemak, snuck past Greg Wright to mark a 219.5 and win by just half a point.

Jon, from Cleburne, Tx, won just shy of $6,000. Littlemak is by Stalights Gypsy out of Justa Swinging Gal.
He told CHTO’s Simone Cobb he has big plans for the horse.

Greg Wright scored 219 on Aristocratic Star to clinch the Reserve Champion title, followed by Andrew Coates and Robbie Boyce, who split third with a 216 aboard Reysin Autumn and Stylish Purpose respectively.


Jackie Davison Clinches 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Unlimited Amateur Classic

Jackie Davison dominated the field to take out the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Amateur Classic title.

Jackie scored an impressive 221 aboard Cajun Grace, some 3 points of ahead of reserve champion, Eric Vanboekel.

After having a baby just four months ago, Jackie won the event in her first show back. She spoke to CHTO’s Simone Cobb.

Cajun Grace is a Highbrow CD out of Pepto Olenas Dually. Jackie has now increased her earnings to more than $71,000.

Reserve champion, Eric Vanboekel, all the way from Canada, rode Peppys Cashin Checks while third place went to Allison Barker on Pur Hal with a 217.5.


Bear Davis Dominates the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Unlimited Amateur Final!

Bear Davis dominated the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Unlimited Final in Fort Worth to notch up his major win the Will Rogers Coliseum.

Bear rode Red Solo Catt and laid down a 219, some 3 points ahead of second place getter, Michael Townsend on Faith In My Kat.

Nineteen-year-old Bear, from Sacramento, CA won almost $10,000 for the title, taking his total earnings to more than $50,000.

Red Solo Catt, is a Metallic Cat out of the mare, Amanda Starlight.

Bear spoke with CHTO’s Simone Cobb about his win.
