Steve Anderson Dominates Non Pro Classic Final at 2018 Summer Spectacular

Steve Anderson made it two for two when he won the Non Pro Classic Challenge Final at the 2018 Summer Spectacular in Fort Worth.

Steve dominated the final aboard Littlemak to mark a 223, five points ahead of Reserve Champion, Carol Anderson Ward on Crafty With Cows.

The pair won the same event at the Super Stakes in April. Steve told CHTO’s Simone Cobb he’s having a blast showing such a great horse.

Steve Anderson Triumphant In 2018 Super Stakes Non Pro Classic

It was the best shot of adrenalin Steve Anderson has experienced in his 22 years of cutting when he won the Non Pro Classic Championship at the 2018 Super Stakes. Steve rode Littlemak to mark an impressive 224, a half point in front of Reserve Champion Alexa Stent who rode Bowmerang.


Joe Howard Williamson Victorious In Non Pro Classic at 2017 Summer Spectacular

It was a sweet victory for four time World Champ Joe Howard Williamson when he won the Non Pro Classic Challenge at the 2017 NCHA Summer Spectacular in Fort Worth.

That’s because it’s the first time he’s won in the Will Rogers! Joe rode Miz Savanah Ichi and crept past Kristen Galyean by half a point to win with 221.5.

Miz Savanah Ichi is by Cat Ichi out of Snicker Roo. The pair won more than $16,500 for first.

Joe Told CHTO’s Simone Cobb a valuable tip he learned was to keep your horse in the middle of the pen.

Kristen won Resreve on Button Down Supercat and third was taken by Nadine Payne on Velvets Revolver who scored 220.


Blakley Colgrove Claims 2017 NCHA Super Stakes Non Pro Classic

What a day for the Colgrove family! Grandad Joel, won the first final of the day and then his fifteen year old granddaughter Blakley Colgrove won the Classic Non Pro Finals at the 2017 Super Stakes!

Blakley rode her six year old gelding Paradox Cat to victory scoring an impressive 225 winning $17,412, adding to her current lifetime earnings of $539,323.

Blakley spoke to CHTOs Duncan Steele-Park about her win and where she plans to show Paradox Cat, now that he will be out of the aged events at the end of this year.

Traci Burgess won reserve on La Deja Vu with a 223 and Amando Costa Neto came third aboard Watch Me Whip just a half point behind.


Stuart Bozeman Claims Non Pro Classic Final at 2016 NCHA Summer Spectacular!

Stuart Bozeman, from Lubbock Texas, was awestruck when he claimed the Non Pro Classic Championship at the 2016 NCHA Summer Spectacular in Fort Worth.

Stuart rode to victory on Checkers Live Oak by notching up a 221. He won more than $17,000, taking the horse’s earnings to nearly $100,00 and his own to more than $130,000.

Checkers Live Oak was sired by Im Countin Checks and out of Cats Live Oak.

Stuart has a background in reined cow horses and has won a number of titles on Checkers Live Oak in that discipline.

He told CHTO’s Simone Cobb, he had to sweat it out for a while before he knew for sure that he’d won.

Second place was won by Cody Hedlund on Meteles cat with a 218.5 and third went to Kristen Galyean on Im Reydioactive just a half point behind.


Cade Shepard Clinches the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes Non-Pro Classic

Cade Shepard would no doubt be feeling some kinda high after winning his 3rd major title in the Will Rogers Coliseum at the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes.

Cade laid down a 222 aboard Some Kinda Highbrow, and then backed that up by sharing second place with Alannah Chalmers when he notched up a 220. Cade’s second horse was Twistful Thinking, the horse he won the Super Stakes Non-Pro on last year.

Cade is the youngest person to ever win three Non-pro Triple Crown events (in just 12 months to boot!). He has won a total of more than $45,000 from the event, taking his lifetime earnings to approximately $345,000.

The 14-year-old told CHTO’s Simone Cobb his goal is to smash his Dad, Austin Shepard’s record.

Some Kinda Highbrow, was sired by High Brow CD and out of Some Kinda Memories and now has earnings just shy of $250,000.

Alannah Chalmers, who shared the reserve buckle with cade, rode Smooth Very Smooth, by Smooth As a Cat and out of One Time Soon.
