JD Garret comes from a long lineage of great cowboys and horseman in Belle Fourche South Dakota. After a very successful rodeo career making the NFR in 2002, JD turned his talent and passion to starting young horses. Having spent several years under the guidance of great trainers such as Shannon Hall and John Mitchell, Jd has combined these two very successful programs to create his own unique way to produce outstanding two year olds for both the cutting and cow horse industry. Trainers such as John, Shannon, Kelby Phillips and Justin Wright have all gone on to final many horses that were started by JD. He now trainers for the public in Millsap, Texas.
