Preview: Todd Bergen: The Myth About Bits

Find out what bit Todd does seventy-five to eighty-five percent of his training in. Todd tries to ride all of his horses the same irrespective of what bridle he has on. He wants to keep his hands the same and not to rely on the bit too much because then you’re letting the bridle do the training for you. In these videos you will learn:
* How long Todd spends in a snaffle
* What bit to progress too after the snaffle
* What bit to use to help get a horse’s body back
* How the angle of the port on a bit can effect the severity
* What bit to use to get more bend
* Why he uses solid bits to help the shoulders of some horses

Todd emphasizes that he tries all types of bits on his horses and they will let you know what they are comfortable in. Quite often it’s not the one you thought would work!

Part 1
Todd explains the difference between all of the snaffles and why he likes a slight bend on the mouthpiece. He explains the bit he progresses to after the snaffle and why he uses it!
Part 2
Todd explains what bridle he goes to if he wants to help lift the shoulders of the horse and to help the horse bring back forward movement.
