Preview: Jesse Lennox: Teaching Horses to Think, Relax and Compromise

Jesse works on three separate issues on three different horses! How to get your horse to move efficiently yet think slowly, how to get a hot horse to relax, and sometimes you have to make a compromise with your horse’s strengths and weaknesses.

Part 1
Jesse likes the way this horse moves and wants to keep the efficient turnaround. However, he also wants to make sure the horse thinks slowly, which allows the horse to read the cow better.
Part 2
This horse is sensitive and reactive, so Jesse focuses on slowing down her mind and demonstrates how he gets her to relax, so she can handle pressure.
Part 3
Jesse talks about how sometimes you have to make compromises with your horse if you are going to make him the best he possibly can be. This horse doesn't turn around the way he would like, however, the horse has a good thought process about the cow and Jesse doesn't want to ruin that!

How I got started: I started at 10 cleaning stalls. At 14, I was breaking colts for five bucks a ride. In the summers, I went to Gerry Hansma’s, loping and riding two year olds. After high school I worked for him full time.
