Preview: Ronnie Rice: Choosing the Right Bit

Ronnie claims that he owes his success to not necessarily having the best horses but having the best broke horses. Yes, it takes time in the saddle to get them broke, but he also has a great understanding of bits and he explains why he uses particular bits and how they help a horse mature. In these videos you will learn:

* What he progresses to after the snaffle
* Why setting the chin strap length correctly is vital to a horse’s response
* Difference between a chain and leather chin strap
* Why shank length and angles differ on bits
* Explains the difference between the Argentine, Milt Bennett and Buster Welch bits
* How a high port in a show bit affects the horse
* Why it’s important to the judges that your horse is really broke
* Why he uses martingales and not tie downs
