How I got started: My father was a leading cutting horse trainer in Australia. I started showing cutting horses at age six. I was starting/breaking colts by age 10 and trained my first cutting horse when I was 15.

Biggest mistake I’ve made in cutting: Going too fast, asking for too much. Usually if you are having problems with your horses, the cause is one or both of those things.

Biggest myth about cutting: Training cutting horses gets easier with experience and time. Every set of horses brings new challenges.

Most memorable moment in cutting: Placing 3rd in the 2008 NCHA Futurity on Quite The Fat Cat.

Training philosophy: You have to be a Horseman. It is important to understand what motivates a horse: pressure and release and then tie that to the cow. Then you need to be consistent and do the same thing every day.
