“The horse has to know he is special and you have to become friends before you can teach them anything,” says Ascencion. Adan explains what he has learned from his father and how he has adapted this philosophy to be competitive in the show pen. Ascencion reiterates consistently that the most important thing to remember is to not take the horse’s mind from the cow.
