Preview: Great Drill To Get Your Horse Balanced With Turner West

Turner West is one of the best 2 year old trainers in the nation. He shows you a unique drill that helps a horse learn how to drive with his hindquarters and learn how to use their hips to find their natural balance. He then shows you how this translates to working cattle and he explains how he rides to the outside of the cow to help a horse find the stop.

Part 1
Turner shows you how drags a log on his 2s to help teach them to use their hindquarters and find their natural balance. He also gets his assistant, Dion Prow, to track the log on another 2yr old to simulate a cow and learn how to cross over with all four feet, reaching equally.
Part 2
Turner works both of the 2 year olds on cattle, demonstrating how the log drill translates to working cattle and the turn around. He also explains how and why he rides to the outside of the cow to teach the horse to initiate the stop. His priority is always the horse's thought process towards the cow, despite some minor imperfections.
