Lilly Loraas first started cutting about a year ago and at 14 years old she has big dreams. She is a regional director for the NYCHA and hopes to one day become president or vice president of the board. She also hopes to compete at the world finals and continue learning about the sport.
Her best friend, Jenna Bell, taught her a lot about the sport of cutting and she rides with JP Bell , Jenna’s dad, at the 57 Ranches in Minnesota. Loraas was hooked after her first time riding a cutting horse! Her cutting highlight so far was when she marked her first big score and everyone was so excited for her.
Loraas said it is all because of her amazing horse Smart Like Pepto Rio. Loraas shows in the youth and she recently started showing in the 35k novice. She bought “Rio” in January and they have enjoyed learning together and have come a long way since. September 2020 Lilly Loraas – Duluth, MN WCHA show at Hardy Murphy Col.
Why Lilly Uses CHTO:
“CHTO has taught me a ton about cutting and has helped me so much, I couldn’t be the cutter I am now without [it]. I love that CHTO has a variety of different videos and trainers to choose from. It’s also the best way to learn about cutting online. I have learned a lot from them. It has helped me get better scores and made me a better rider. Two of my favorites are “How to keep your horse soft working out of the herd” with Geffrey Sheehan and “Hookin’ Up” with Loyd Cox.”
