Kaitlyn Wimberly achieved her two biggest goals of the year when she took out the Non Pro World Title at the 2016 NCHA World Finals in Fort Worth.
Kaitlyn and her mare, Light N Lily also won the show average making it two for two. The pair dominated the event, coming into the finals some $23,000 ahead of the next rider.
The pair racked up $131,436 in winnings, almost of $20,000 of it at the finals. Kaitlyn’s scores were 227, 221, 200, 223.4 over the four go rounds.
Kaitlyn, who comes from Texas, told CHTO’s Simone Cobb that lots of planning and being strategic with shows and horses was a large part of her success. Kaitlyn gives some great advice in this interview for anyone thinking of hauling for a title.
Reserve champion was April Widman on Woodys Baby winning $103,000 and third went to Mary Jo Milner aboard Little Pepto Cat with $62,000 in earnings.
