How I got started: I grew up in California. Dad was a trapper who had a 3,500 mile radius area that he controlled. In that circular region, there were multiple cow horse trainers, lots of legends such as Greg Ward, Bobby Ingersoll, also the best cutter, Leon Harrell.
Biggest mistake I’ve made in cutting: There’s not just one that stands out because I’ve made multiple mistakes. I think anyone is going to make some, especially if he’s confident.
Biggest myth about cutting: That it’s “addicting”, which is only partly true because it can also break you and not just financially.
Favorite quote: “Don’t get out-worked and work smart.” – Ron Clark
Most memorable moment in cutting: Winning my first major title in the Will Rogers Coliseum on Indian Rick in 2011.
Training philosophy: If you can’t go slow perfectly, then you have no business going fast. Eventually you’ll run the “will” out of them.
