How I got started: I was shoeing horses for Wayne Jordan from Nebraska and he came down to pick up some horses and he pretty well threw me in the truck and took me back to Nebraska and I stayed up there for two years starting reiners and ropers. I spent a lot of time around Bob Loomis and he helped me a lot. I then came back to Texas and started all types of horses including barrel horses for Martha Josey. I moved to Crockett in 1980 and started 2-yr-olds for the cutting industry.
Biggest mistake in cutting: I let horse training take over my life and did not spend enough time with my family.
Biggest myth in cutting: That trainers have it all worked out.

Most memorable moment: When Austin won the Futurity on High Brow Cd, a colt I started.
Training Philosophy: Get them really broke.
