He and very talented horse trainer, Wes Ashlock, talk about palate pressure, shank length and the importance of understanding the purchase length on the bit. Russell explains what changing the curb of the shank does to the pivot point. He also explains the trends that he is seeing today with regards to tongue relief and the width of the ports. Russell's goal is simple, "build a bit with common sense and that's comfortable to the horse."
