Preview: Beau Galyean Works Metallic Cat Two Year Olds
Beau works a couple of Metallic Cat 2 year olds on cattle and explains what he is looking for at this time of the year (early Fall). He wants to be smooth with his hands and works on having the horse’s belly out of the way so he can create a pocket for an efficient turn and to help draw the cow in. He likes to step to a cow a lot to create caution and to help encourage a horse’s eye appeal on a cow.
Beau wants his horses to be broke so he can correct them on a cow when he has to without getting in a fight, and wasting cattle. He likes to make sure his 2 year olds get all the way across the cow because as they get older and more trained they will tighten themselves up.
Beau uses his legs a lot to move the horse around and wants his horses to be soft in the belly which helps them to stay soft in the mouth. He wants his horses to find that cow and to let that cow pull you all the way across through the turn.
Beau continues working the same horse from part 2. He wants a horse to be helping him! He gets this by always coming back to the cow, encouraging interest and caution.
