April 22 - April 23

“Observe, Remember and Compare!”

Horseman extraordinaire, Wayne Robinson is giving a two-day clinic at the scenic J5 Ranch, Weatherford, Tx on April 22nd-23rd, 2017. This clinic will focus on two-year-olds, introducing them to cattle and getting them broke to your feet. It is for the horseman or woman who wants to understand their horse and set them up for a successful career in cutting. Cattle will be supplied. Spaces are extremely limited to just 15 people to ensure you get plenty of individual attention and maximum learning in an intimate environment.

How I got started: I came to the states when I was 21 and worked for Roy Carter for a few months. I then went to New Mexico and worked for Ray Hunt. I worked for Ray on and off for a few years. I started showing and competing horses at age 26. I love everything about cutting, from riding 2-yr-olds to showing a good trained show horse.

Biggest mistake I’ve made in cutting: I believe my biggest mistake in cutting is that I tried too hard.

Biggest myth about cutting: Some people say it gets easier as you go. I’m a firm believer that it never gets any easier. You keep on thinking it’s going to get a little easier each year. Everything is constantly changing. You learning something new every day.

Favorite quote: “Keep the sureness ahead of the sharpness.”

Most memorable moment in cutting: Winning the Limited Open at the NCHA Futurity in 2013.

Training philosophy: Keep looking for the small change and try.
