Katie Rice was thrilled with her win in the Limited Non Pro four year old final at the 2016 NCHA Super Stakes.
Katie came out second to last in a field of 14 to mark a 220.5 on Miss Laureyna and scoot past Reserve Champion Don Bell who scored 218 on Catfish.
Miss Laureyna was sired by Smart Royal Rey out of CR Hot Meow.
It’s Katie’s first major win in the Will Rogers, earning more than $8,600 on prize money. Katie, wife of trainer Tarin Rice, now has total winnings surpassing $80,000. She and daughter Charlie spoke with CHTO’s Simone Cobb.
Third place was won by 14 year old Ryan Rapp on Tuff Julie with a 216.
