Preview: Sam Shepard: Feeding Cattle

Sam mixes his own cow feed and tries to keep his costs to a minimum without cutting corners. He maintains consistent weight gains and has established good relationships with cattle buyers and sellers to help produce the right article so he can make money with his cattle. In this first two part series, Sam explains what he feeds and how he runs his operation.

Part 1
Sam's first bit of advice is to build a commodity barn and talks about feeding hay and minerals to his cattle.
Part 2
Sam talks about antibiotics and doctoring cattle and how much he likes to feed his cattle to get the gains he needs.
