Gary avoids the Texas heat and takes his 2 and 3 year olds to Tom Bailey’s ranch in Carbondale, Colorado for the summer. He works his threes out of the herd taking advantage of fresh heifers. He focuses on maturing his horses by letting them take responsibility as soon as he drops his hand.

Part 1

Gary has been working the first horse in a bridle and puts a snaffle back on because he wants to try and slow him down, but still wants to see the horse be serious right from the start. The second horse he tries to not get too mechanical with because she gets agitated easily.

Part 2

He works the first horse in a bridle because she's had a snaffle on and he wants to see if she can handle the pressure and take more responsibility. The second horse is a little hot and keeps her in his hands because he wants her to not be afraid and understand that Gary's feet are there to help.
