Driving off can be daunting because it can reveal how little control we really have of our horse. Gavin explains how to drive off and why it helps create cow and confidence within your horse.

Part 1
The goal of driving off is to teach your horse to take responsibility for the cow, says Gavin. He explains that when the cow is fast just float around with the cow and as it slows then you can pick your line to go stop the cow. Gavin also talks about the different ways to drive off when you have fresh cattle versus re-run cattle.
Part 2
Gavin works a 4 year old new to his barn and he explains how he drives off so he can get with his horse and find out where the horse is at in his thought process. He also demonstrates how a horse can turn a fast cow into a slow cow.
