Jill Townsend explains how the treadmill conditions and trains a horse by increasing its stride, building core strength and even straightening its walk. Jill demonstrates the treadmill with a young horse which has since stopped throwing its hind quarters to the right. Jill explains how the treadmill trains a horse both mentally and physically, how it helps prevents injuries and is also used to help heal injured horses.

In part two, Jill demonstrates the treadmill with a show horse that has a short stride. The machine helps the horse to stretch its core and lengthen its stride, which allows the horse to better adjust its hind end in the turn. Jill explains how the treadmill builds muscle and, most importantly, power in a cutter so that you never run out of horse in your two and half minutes of showing.
