Tarin Rice Cutting Horse Clinic

August 7 - August 8

Imagine spending two full days doing what you love at the Tarin Rice Cutting Horse Clinic! You’ll get personally coached by one of cutting’s most exciting young trainers and enjoying unlimited fresh cattle!!! This is an awesome opportunity to attend a rare clinic featuring Futurity Champion Tarin Rice in a fun and relaxed environment. The maximum number of participants will be limited to 12. This gives riders all the personal attention they need to learn directly from Tarin. The clinic will be held at High Tension Ranch, Weatherford, TX on August 7-8th. Plenty of fresh cattle will be supplied. All participants come away with a personal plan. They will also be critiqued using our virtual video service. Tarin will help them move closer to achieving their specific goals in cutting. Spectators are welcome, click HERE to register.

Tarin was a Co-Futurity Champion with his great Uncle Ronnie Rice in 2012. Tarin was just 23 years old at the time riding He Bea Cat for Center Ranch. Tarin has now won in excess of $2-million and is a Hall of Fame Trainer. He comes from one of cutting’s most accomplished families in the sport as a third generation cutting horse trainer. Tarin has learned from the best and proven at an early age he has all the talent in the world to become a dominant force in the sport. He is now passionate about sharing what he knows at this cutting horse clinic and helping others achieve their best in this challenging sport.

Focus on showmanship at the cutting horse clinic.

Tarin will focus on showmanship at the cutting horse clinic and simulate a show environment without the pressure of judges looking on.  Participants can work their horses and get invaluable corrections and insight as they go through the motions to take their understanding to whole new level. On top of that, you get to hang out at the cutting horse clinic with one of the sport’s most energetic professionals to ask questions or just have a laugh at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

How I got started: Family tradition.

Biggest mistake I’ve made in cutting: Too many too list. I make them everyday.

Biggest myth about cutting: That it’s all the horse when you drop your hand.

Favorite quote: “Perseverance through adversity.”

Most memorable moment in cutting: Winning the futurity was awesome in 2012 but the 2014 NCHA Futurity comes to mind because the Rice’s had seven horses make the semi-finals and five made the finals.

Training philosophy: Figure out what each horse will do, can do and build on that. Try not to worry about what they can’t do.
